Linux Operations Manager

MedForce is looking for an operations oriented Linux administrator who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the infrastructure; also, to collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes. You will become an integral part of the team, making every problem of the platform a problem of your own, and solving them accordingly.

Must be comfortable working independently, but also possess the ability to interface with the Development Team.

• Help tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure
• Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools
• Develop and maintain configuration management solutions
• Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery program
• Create tools to help teams make the most out of the available infrastructure
• Works with Application Development team in a Dev Ops capacity
• Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments (AWS, VMWare)
• Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
• 5+ years of experience with LAMP stack applications. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Apache. Familiarity with development tools such as GitHub, etc.
• Strong grasp on configuration management tools
• Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, etc.
• Proficiency with AWS infrastructure, specifically the following services: EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, ELB, RDS, and IAM.
• Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
• Ability to configure logging services using applications such as syslog-ng
• Working knowledge of server hardware and switches
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems related to database operations including long running queries, indexes, optimization and replication.
• Able to follow best practices in regards to maintaining development environments
• Experience working with HIPAA compliant networks a plus
• Amazon Web Services Certification a plus
• Linux/Hardware Certification a plus

Application Developer

MedForce is looking for full-stack developers to help improve and implement a growing set of Web Applications in a LAMP environment. We maintain large sets of legally compliant data and integrate with client web services to provide real-time availability of event records and summaries. You will be part of a fast-paced team that works on automating processes and delivering user-friendly experiences to clients and operations.

• Designing and developing web applications using LAMP and front end technologies
• Identifying, proposing, and documenting scalable solutions to complex business needs
• Optimizing and maintaining existing applications
• Supporting QA in testing functionality and performance
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience
• Proficiency in the full LAMP stack – Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
• Strong database design skills, OOP, and MVC
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks like PHPUnit, Karma, etc.
• Team experience with version control (SVN, git, etc)
• Strong analytical skills and ability to implement business requirements in scalable designs
• Experience with PHP frameworks is a plus
• Self-driven to implement scalable solutions to complex problems
• A passion for learning new technologies
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and test driven development
